The Calling by Kelley Armstrong
Rating: 3 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: Maybe it's because of the amount of time between when I read the first book, and when I read this one, but it took me awhile to get into it. That being said, I enjoyed all the action and twists and turns. But for some reason, this book just really isn't memorable to me, which is sad because usually I really enjoy this author. |

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
Rating: 5 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: Just when I thought the Hunger Games were over, I picked up Catching Fire. I couldn't think of any way that she could continue the story without forcing it, but with a clever twist, I was immersed right back in the action again! This sequel doesn't seem forced, and I was on the edge of my seat through the entire book. |

The sequel to Ally Condie's Matched, this book follows Cassia as she tricks the Officials and goes to the Outer Provinces in order to find Ky. Along her tedious journey she discovers things that she hadn't known before, and starts to find herself. I can't wait until the next book, where we will find out who she will choose, once and for all. |
Lost in Time by Melissa de la Cruz
Rating: 5 stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: This book was amazing. It switched back and forth between a few different perspectives, and really helped to tie up some of the events that have happened in the previous books in this series. Bargains and Betrayals by Shannon Delaney

Jessica Rules the Dark Side by Beth Fantasky
Rating: 4 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: I enjoyed this book, but not quite as much as I enjoyed the first one. The Ranger's Apprentice: The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan
Rating: 5 Stars Submitted by: Jacob Jacob says: Any fan of "The Lord of the Rings" by J. R. R. Tolkien will easily wrap themselves in this book and the next 9 that make the series. John Flanagan's style is as sophisticated as Tolkien's writing while still understandable for young readers. I strongly urge anyone attempting to read this book to have the next two at your disposal before you finish it and READ THEM IN ORDER! Rating: 5 Stars
Submitted by: Rick Rick says: Great series! Appropriate for pre-teens but will be enjoyed by teens and adults as well. An easy read for older readers but the story line will have you hooked from the beginning. |

Switched by Amanda Hocking
Rating: 4 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: At first, I really thought I wasn't going to like this book. Then I got to the point where I couldn't put it down, it was just that good. Ascend by Amanda Hocking
Rating: 4 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: A wonderful ending to this trilogy, featuring a love square (an interesting dynamic, one girl loving two guys, neither one of them her husband? You betcha), some battles, fighting, death, and the happiest ending I could imagine. It seemed a little rushed at times, but other than that it was a wonderful book. Part of me wishes, however, that there was going to be another one. But I suppose beggars can't be choosers. |
The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
Rating: 5 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: This book was so good! I always enjoy a good paranormal book, but this one had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Has Jack the Ripper really come back from the dead and begun killing again, or is there more to this story than meets the eye? Read this book to find out! I promise you won't be disappointed. |
I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore
Rating: 3 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: This book struck me as meant for a younger crowd, despite it's Young Adult designation. There wasn't much character development, which was disappointing, and the whole time the book seemed to be rushing toward the end. That said, I'm sure this would be a great read for young teenaged readers who enjoy some science fiction while reading. |
The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore
Rating: 4 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: I liked this book much better than I liked the first, possibly because I didn't watch the movie first. There's more action, more suspense, and we get introduced to more characters. Very exciting! |

Rating: 5 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says:This book was an amazing first novel from this author! I love the way she writes, and the plot line was a new twist on a dystopian setting, and amazing the entire time. Inside Out by Maria Snyder
Rating: 3 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: This book was interesting, and definitely got better toward the end, but it wasn't something that I absolutely could not put down. Outside In by Maria Snyder
Rating: 3 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: This book comes after Inside Out, and has roughly the same amount of twists and turns, just enough to keep you interested. This one was a little better, but not by much. Still, it wasn't a bad book overall, just not very memorable. |

Reckoning by Lili St. Crow
Rating: 4 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: I give this book four stars not because I found anything necessarily wrong with the book, but because I was dissatisfied with the ending. This is supposedly the last book in the series, but I feel like there could be more, and I really hope that the author changes her mind, because I think Dru's story is anything but finished. That being said, I enjoyed the book overall, with its action-filled pages, twists, turns, and best of all, Dru's interesting vocabulary. I would recommend not only this book, but the whole series. |
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
Rating: 5 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: I love love love this author. A standalone novel told in two different points of view, I couldn't put it down. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. The best part? Aside from romance, a happy ending, and drama, the "paranormal" aspect of this book is something not many (and none that I've read) authors write about, making it so much more interesting than something that has been beaten to death. Read this book, you won't regret it!!! |
Lament by Maggie Stiefvater
Rating: 5 Stars Submitted by: Christine Christine says: I love this book! I read it in less than 24 hours, I just couldn't put it down. The only reason it took me that long was because I had to sleep and go to work. It was so good! Faeries and more will suck you into this wonderful book. Highly recommended! |
Ballad by Maggie Stiefvater

The Vampire Stalker by Allison Van Diepen

That being said, I thought there were some interesting twists that kept me reading until the end. It ended up being a rather interesting plot. |
If I Die by Rachel Vincent

Rating: 2 Stars Submitted by: Anna Anna says: An interesting book, but poorly written and predictable. |
